Tate Felts is the principal and founder of College Planning Experts. Mr. Felts has helped hundreds of families in the Hampton Roads area plan and pay for college. He does this by maximizing the family’s scholarship eligibility and protecting their assets for retirement as well as assisting the student with their college search.

Mr. Felts started his career in the finance business where he spent seven years. During this time he noticed concerns from his clients regarding the cost of college and the impact it was having on their finances. He started doing research into the matter himself and soon found his calling. He founded CPE soon after in an effort to provide families of college-bound students with college funding strategies as well as guidance with matching the right school for each student. Every aspect of merit and need based aid is addressed with the highest standard of expertise resulting in overall reductions in college cost for his families.

Mr. Felts is a member of the National Association of Certified College Planners, Higher Education Consultant's Association, The National College Advisory Group and the Hampton Roads Chamber of Commerce.
